5 disciplines this week to increase your capacity in Christ
Your 5 Spiritual Disciplines for the week
Every Sunday, we bring you 5 different disciplines and perspectives to increase your capacity of serving God for His Kingdom. As always, we welcome your ideas. Simply reply to this blog with suggestions and comments!
1. Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13): The Discipline: The Word of God has many different prayers for us to emulate, however this one should be the standard of everything that we pray. Consider reading it like this (From “Before Amen” by Max Lucado). “Lord, you are good. I need help. Heal me and forgive me. They need help. Thank you. In Jesus Name, Amen. I break this prayer down a lot further in one of my previous blog posts (Check it out here).
2. Commitment to the Lord (Psalm 127:1): The Discipline: The Lord needs to be involved with everything that we do, or else what we do is in vain.
3. Reflection and Confession (Proverbs 28:13): The Discipline: This is a discipline that is always to be on the list. Take a look over this past week and see where you may have fallen short. Reach out to those in your prayer circle and let them know. Leave no room for the enemy and his demons to grow that sin.
4. Watch (How to Read The Bible): The Discipline: The link above will take you to The Bible Projects video on how to read the Bible. The Bible can be dense, and I love these videos because of how they break everything down. I would also love to be a resource to you. If you are an avid reader of the Word of God, let me know what your favorite Book in the Word is below!
5. Silence (Psalm 46:10): The Discipline: Last week we talked about taking 1 minute of silence. This week let’s take it a step further and press into 5 minutes of complete silence either after reading the Word or after prayer.
Increase your capacity!
